Venera Gimadieva, Sara Blanch & Arturo Chacòn-Cruz Lead New Year Program at Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi di Padova

The Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi di Padova has announced upcoming performances for the New Year.

First up, the opera house will present Ivan Stefanutti’s production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” on Dec. 31, 2021. The work stars Venera Gimadieva as Violetta Valéry, Arturo Chacòn-Cruz as Alfredo Germont, and Simone Piazzola as Giorgio Germont. The cast also includes Andreina Drago, Michela Bregantin, Emanuele Giannino, William Corrò, Michele Zanchi, Francesco Toso, Roberto Capovilla, Giuseppe Nicodemo, and Giovanni Bertoldi. Francesco Rosa conducts.

On Jan. 1, 2022, the venue presents a concert featuring soprano Sara Blanch, mezzo-soprano Emanuela Pascu, and tenor Ruzil Gatin performing music by Georges Bizet, Gaetano Donizetti, Franz Lehár, Jacques Offenbach, Gioachino Rossini, Johann Strauss, and Giuseppe Verdi. Giampaolo Bisanti conducts the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.

Sara Blanch is set to perform the role of Donna Lisetta in the rarely performed Cherubini’s “Lo sposo di tre e marito di nessuna” at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in January and February 2022.
