The month opens with Calixto Bieito’s new “St. John Passion” from Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Les Talens Lyriques and a group of amateur singers who form the chorus at the heart of the narrative star alongside Benjamin Appl, Joshua Ellicott, Lenneke Ruiten, and Carlos Mena

The Staatsoper Hamburg’s “Lucia di Lammermoor“ directed by Amelie Niermeyer comes next with a cast that includes Venera Gimadieva, Francesco Demuro, and Christoph Pohl.

The third of the month will be “Don Giovanni“ from the Estates Theatre, in a new production by Swedish-Norwegian director Alexander Mørk-Eidem. Karsten Januschke conducts.

The RING AWARD is the foremost international competition for stage direction and stage design in musical theatre. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the competition is held at three-year intervals in Graz, Austria. OperaVision will stream the final round and award ceremony live from the main stage of Schauspielhaus Graz.
