Vashon Opera has announced a major leadership change.

On its official social media pages, the company revealed that Allison Pohl will be its new Artistic Director, while Founding Artistic Director Jennifer Krikawa will transition to the position of General Director.

Pohl is a soprano who previously took on the role of Blanche in “Les Dialogues des Carmélites” with Vashon Opera. She has also appeared with Opera Providence, New Opera Renaissance, Tacoma Opera, Opera in the Heights, Virginian Opera, Opera New Jersey, and Atlantic Coast Opera Festival, among others.

The Washington-based opera, which was founded in 2008, recently presented a production of “The Marriage of Figaro.” Later this season, the organization will present “Romeo and Juliette.”
