Vanessa Vasquez, Ginger Costa-Jackson & Talise Trevigne Highlight Lyric Opera Of Kansas City’s 2020-21 Season

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced its 2020-21 season featuring four unique productions.

Vanessa Vasquez headlines opening night in a production of Verdi and Piave’s “La Traviata” by Francesca Zambello. Timothy Myers conducts the masterpiece with Matthew White as Alfredo and Weston Hurt as Germont.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 4, 2020

Eric Greene, Talise Trevigne, Donovan Singletary, Jermaine Smith and Indra Thomas lead the Gershwins’ “Porgy and Bess.” David Charles Abell conducts Francesca Zambello’s acclaimed production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 7-15, 2020

Mason Bates and Mark Cambell’s “The R(e)volution of Steve Jobs” makes its Kansas City debut with John Michael Moore in the title role. The production also stars Bille Bruley, Madison Leonard and Wei Wu.

Tomer Zuvlun brings his acclaimed production to the company with Michael Christie conducting.

Performance Dates: Feb. 27-March 7, 2021

Bizet, Halévy, and Meilhac’s “Carmen” is set to star Ginger Costa-Jackson, Eric Fennell, Christian Pursell, and Celine Byrne. Emmanuel Plasson conducts the production by Kathleen Belcher.

Performance Dates: April 24-May 2, 2021
