The Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla has announced that soprano Vanessa Goikoetxea will perform the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart and Da Ponte’s opera “Così fan tutte” On Nov. 1, 3, 5 & 7, 2020.

Goikoetxea will replace soprano Carmela Remigio. Goikoetxea will join a cast that includes Maite Beaumont in the role of Dorabella, Simon Mechlinski as Guglielmo, Xabier Anduaga in the role of Ferrando, Natalia Labourdette as Despina, and Roberto de Candia as Don Alfonso.

Iván López-Reynoso will conduct the production by Rafael R. Villalobos.

Vanessa Goikoetxea has recently performed the role of Micaela in Bizet’s “Carmen” at the Seattle Opera, the role of Hanna Glawari in the Lehár’s operetta “Die Lustige Witwe” at the Semperoper Dresden, and the role of Woglinde in Wagner’s “Götterdämmerung” at the the Ópera de Oviedo.

The soprano is slated to take on the role of Marzelline in Beethoven’s “Fidelio” at the Ópera de Oviedo in December 2020.
