Valley Opera & Performing Arts Announces 2023-24 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Valley Opera in California has announced its 2023-24 season featuring three productions.
The season opens with Puccini’s “La Bohème.” The production was conceived by Dylan F. Thomas and directed by Director Brayden Hade. This rendition of the famed opera will be transported to the bustling streets of New York in 2020, taking a poignant twist as Mimi’s health battle unfolds against the backdrop of Covid-19.
The cast includes Shira Renee Thomas who makes her role debut as Mimi, Xavier Prado as Rodolfo, Gabriel Manro as Marcello, and Agnese Gallenzi as Musetta. The cast is rounded out by Phil Meyer as Colline, Adam McCrory as Shaunard, Eric Castro in the dual roles of Benoit/Alcindoro, and Robert Dunlap as Parpignol. Geoffrey Pope conducts.
Performance Dates: Sept. 29 & Oct. 1, 2023
“The Best of Broadway and Everything Else!” will follow in the season.
Performance Dates: March 16 & 17, 2024
The season concludes with “Fiddler on the Roof,” which will also see the LA Jewish Symphony Orchestra performing.
