USC Thornton School of Music Announces 2026-27 ‘Signature Series’

USC Thornton School of Music unveils the Signature Series lineup for 2026-27.

Here’s a look at the classical voice events.

The Chamber and Concert Choir perform in Newman Recital Hall.

Performance Date: Oct. 23, 2026


Up next is a concert in Newman Recital Hall by the Apollo Choir and Oriana Choir.

Performance Date: Oct. 30, 2026


USC Thornton Opera presents Adam Guettel’s “The Light in the Piazza.” Ken Cazan directs and Brent McMunn conducts. Performances take place at Bing Theatre.

Performance Dates: Nov. 19 -22, 2026


The University Chorus performs in Newman Recital Hall.

Performance Date: Nov. 22, 2026


The “Choral Winter Gala” closes out the year. This concert takes place in Bovard Auditorium.

Performance Date: Dec. 2, 2026


“Opera Scenes” takes place in Newman Recital Hall.

Performance Date: Feb. 5, 2027


The Concert Choir gives a concert in Newman Recital Hall.

Performance Date: April 9, 2027


The USC Thornton Chamber Singers and Thornton Chamber Orchestra present “From Past to Present: The Music of Bach, Handel, and Grau.” This concert takes place in Bovard Auditorium.

Performance Date: April 21, 2027


The final opera of the season is Cavalli’s “La Calisto” directed by Ken Cazan. Brent McMunn conducts. Performances are held in Bing Theatre.

USC Thornton Chamber Singers perform in Dr. Cristian Grases’ lecture recital, “The Choral Music of Alberto Grau.” This events takes place in Newman Recital Hall.

Performance Date: April 23, 2027


María Guinand and Alberto Grau present on their initiative, “Construir Cantando.” Following the panel, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and Estorinos, a youth choir from Mexico perform a selection of choral music. This event is held in Bovard Auditorium.
