Union Avenue Opera to Present Concert in Honor of 30th Anniversary Season Announcement

St. Louis’ Union Avenue Opera is set to host a concert to celebrate the announcement of its 30th anniversary series.

The event, set for Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, will be hosted by Artistic Director Scott Schoonover, who will announce the new season. There will be performances by Marsha Thompson, Meroë Khalia Adeeb (Governess) and James Stevens (Peter Quint) from the production of “The Turn of the Screw;” and Gina Malone (Evelyn Nesbit), Liya Khaimova (Emma Goldman) and Philip Touchette (Willie Conklin) from “Ragtime.” They will be accompanied by pianist Alla Voskoboynikova.

“We are eager to welcome back to our stage a few favorite UAO singers to preview an innovative and exciting 30th season that we can’t wait to share with our audiences,” said Schoonover in an official press statement issued by the company.

The concert will be a fundraising event for the upcoming season which is set to open next July and August and will culminate in a fall gala.
