
UAE National Orchestra Appoints Raff Wilson as Artistic Planning Director

Wilson joins the orchestra in July 2026, following stints with the Seattle Symphony, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
In his new role, Wilson will work alongside conductor Ahmed Farag to shape future artistic programming, develop partnerships, support talent initiatives, and contribute to the orchestra’s long-term artistic strategy.
“Raff brings exceptional experience from some of the world’s leading orchestras, but what stood out most during our conversations was his vision, creativity, and genuine appreciation for what we are building. His passion for artistic excellence and thoughtful planning aligns strongly with our ambitions for the future,” said Managing Director Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qassimi, per an official press release.
The UAE National Orchestra brings together musicians from more than 30 nationalities, combining Emirati heritage, Arabic musical traditions, and Western influences within a single ensemble.
