Tuuli Takala, Evelin Novak & Tomislav Mužek Headline Semperoper Dresden’s Summer Performances

The Semperoper Dresden has announced that it will reopen its doors for live audiences in June 2021.

The opera house will present the Josef E. Köpplinger’s production of Mozart‘s singspiel “Die Zauberflöte.” The opera will star Evelin Novak and Tuuli Takala in the role of Pamina, Tomislav Mužek, Joseph Dennis and Sebastian Kohlhepp as Tamino, Maria Perlt and Julia Sitkovetsky in the role of Die Königin der Nacht, and Tilmann Rönnebeck as Sarastro.

The cast is rounded out by Christoph Pohl, Sebastian Wartig, Julia Muzychenko, Christiane Hossfeld, Simeon Esper, Aaron Pegram, Markus Marquardt, Roxana Incontrera, Stepanka Pucalkova, Iulia Maria Dan, Anna Kudriashova-Stepanets, and Michal Doron. Michele Gamba, Gábor Káli and Christoph Gedschold conduct.

The run of “Die Zauberflöte” begins on June 25, and is set to end on July 11, 2021.

The Semperoper Dresden has been allowed to reopen as the seven-day COVID-19 infection incidence went below the critical value of 100. The current seven-day incidence in Dresden stands at 29.3.
