Tulsa Opera Postpones Community Event Due to Snow Storm

By David Salazar

Tulsa Opera has postponed its “The Tragedy of Carmen: Domestic Violence and the Operatic Stage” event due to snow.

The showcase, which is part of the “Opera Echoes” series, was scheduled for Jan. 11, 2025 but had to be canceled due to a major snowstorm.

“We are sorry to postpone, but we do plan to reschedule as soon as possible so that the general public and our audience can be served,” said Dani Keil, Director of Community Engagement at Tulsa Opera, per an official press release. “Audience care is crucial when presenting repertoire like ‘The Tragedy of Carmen.’ Education and resources for intimate partner violence and stalking behavior in real-life situations are vital at any time, but especially when presenting potentially triggering subject matter.”

The free event aimed to shed light on domestic violence and stalking behavior.

No new date was mentioned in the press release.
