The Kennedy Center has two new Trump loyalists on its board, Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo.

President Trump took to social media and announced the news stating, “I am thrilled to announce that Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo will be joining our Kennedy Center Board – This completes our selection. We look forward to restoring the Center to Greatness, and ushering in America’s Golden Age. Together, we will Make the Arts Great Again!”

The news comes weeks after Trump installed himself as the board president and added a board filled with loyalists. It also comes after Ric Grenell was installed as interim president after the ousting of Deborah Rutter.

The news also comes a day after “Hamilton” producers canceled their performances at the Kennedy Center stating, “The recent purge by the Trump Administration of both professional staff and performing arts events at or originally produced by the Kennedy Center flies in the face of everything this national center represents.”

Grenell responded on X stating, “Let’s be clear on the facts. Seller and Lin Manuel Miranda first went to the New York Times before they came to the Kennedy Center with their announcement that they can’t be in the same room with Republicans. This is a publicity stunt that will backfire. The Arts are for everyone – not just for the people who Lin likes and agrees with. The American people need to know that Lin Manuel Miranda is intolerant of people who don’t agree with him politically. It’s clear he and Sellers don’t want Republicans going to their shows.” 

The Kennedy Center also released a statement noting that 20 shows were canceled or postponed because of the artist’s will or poor ticket sales. Grenell went on Fox News stating that no performances had been canceled by the Kennedy Center and said “The Kennedy Center is open for business for everyone. We just want an arts center that celebrates arts.”

The Gay Men’s Chorus and the show “Finn,” which has LGBT themes dispute that and noted that the Kennedy Center canceled their shows.

Ingraham is a Fox News Host who has her show “The Ingraham Angle” and famously campaigned for President Trump. Bartiromo is a prominent figure on Fox News who has been an advocate for President Trump and promoted election fraud.
