Trinity Church Launches ‘Divine Muse’ Concert Series
By David SalazarTrinity Church has kicked off its “Divine Muse” series on Oct. 30, 2024.
The concert series, which aims to honor St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, was launched with “Bach at One: Divine Muse.” The program featured Bach’s “Komm, Jesu, komm;” “Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild;” and Britten’s “Hymn to St. Cecilia.”
The series is set to continue on Nov. 14, 2024 with Gounod’s “St. Cecilia Mass,” performed by NOVUS and Downtown Voices. Soloists include Brianna J. Robinson, Steven Caldicott Wilson, and Enrico Lagasca. Stephen Sands conducts.
Then a week later, the series culminates in a performance featuring the Trinity Choir and Trinity Baroque Orchestra under Melissa Attebury. The program includes Händel’s “Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day” and Scarlatti’s “St. Cecilia Mass.”
