Tri-Cities Opera to Open with Andrew Lloyd Webber Celebration

Tri-Cities Opera is set to launch its 2023-24 season with a special event on Sept. 22.

The company will perform music by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber in celebration of his 75 birthday. The evening will be hosted by the United Presbyterian Church on Chenango Street in Binghamton.

Under the direction of Music Director, John Cockerill, Tri-Cities Opera will bring beloved melodies from Lloyd Webber’s most iconic musicals, from the heartwarming ballads of “Cats” to the rousing anthems of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Phantom of the Opera.”

“Celebrating 75: An Andrew Lloyd Webber Revue” will be performed in English, run for approximately 90 minutes, and offer one intermission. The 2023-24 season will also include “I Am a Dreamer Who No Longer Dreams,” “All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914,″ “The Fantasticks,” and “The Barber of Seville“
