On Nov. 11, the Tri-Cities Opera will broadcast the United States Army Field Band’s production of “The Falling and The Rising.”

The recording, which was made in September at the Forum Theatre in Binghamton, will be distributed through a special Veterans Day broadcast to communities throughout Central New York and the Southern Tier of New York. WCNY will air at 9 p.m. on Nov. 11th and WSKG will air at 8 p.m. on Nov. 11th.

The 80-minute opera in English was originally created from interviews with active-duty soldiers, wounded warriors, and veterans, and centers around a strong female hero, who is severely wounded by a roadside IED, just hours after sending a video message home on the eve of her daughter’s thirteenth birthday.

This season the company is also set to present “Gather Together” and “Cinderella.”
