By Francisco Salazar

The Glow Lyric Theatre has announced its 2020 festival season, which will be the company’s tenth overall. As per usual, the GLT will feature an opera, a musical theatre piece, and an operetta, all connecting to a specific theme.

In recent years, the company has showcased such operas as “Romeo et Juliette,” “Fidelio,” “Carmen,” and “The Crucible,” among others.

This season the company’s main operatic selection will be Puccini’s “Tosca,” the dramatic thriller which features politics, corruption, lies, and lust.

Performance Dates: July 25-August 2, 2020

In addition to Puccini’s famed masterpiece, the company will also present Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” and Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein’s “Showboat.”

The festival opens on July 18 and runs through August 2, 2020.
