Toronto City Opera Announces Partnership with Rossini Opera Festival

Universal Declaration of Human Rights.has announced that it will be joining Rossini Opera Festival and Aspes SpA for several upcoming initiatives bring the music of Rossini to audiences in Toronto.

In March of 2022, Toronto City Opera will host the Rossini Opera Festival, as the latter expands its audition network while looking for artists for their annual “Alberto Zedda” Rossiniana Academy in Pesaro, Italy. In August TCO will present a Rossini festival in collaboration with the Rossini Opera Festival; productions from both companies will be offered live and online. The two companies will explore further opportunities for future co-productions.

In the fall of 2021, TCO will hold a gala which will include “La Cucina di Gioachino Rossini – Rossini Gourmet,” an initiative of Aspes SpA to promote Italian cuisine.

“It has been a pleasure working with the municipality of Pesaro, the Rossini Opera Festival and Aspes SpA – the positive and productive nature of the working relationships bodes well for the innovative and exciting initiatives contained within this Framework Agreement,” writes Toronto City Opera General Director Richard Paradiso. “This is an important day in the history of Toronto City Opera, and an achievement for opera and the arts in Toronto, Ontario and Canada. I am pleased that after two very difficult seasons because of the global phenomenon, this result has risen from my journeys.”
