The Toronto Bach Festival has unveiled its 2024 season.

“I’m very pleased to present the 7th annual festival celebrating the matchless music of Johann Sebastian Bach,” From Artistic Director John Abberger in an official press statement. “Our festival this year will explore some of the music that influenced Bach as he developed his voice as a composer, and I have curated another exciting festival of music to enlighten and delight our audiences in May 2024. Our sold-out performances last year demonstrate the demand in our community for this profoundly moving music, and it is with eager anticipation that I look forward to welcoming our diverse audiences again in May as we experience the timeless appeal of Bach’s art together.”

Here is a look at the vocal performances on offer.

The Kaffeehaus will feature vocalists Ellen McAteer, Yeree Suh, Charles Daniels, Jesse Blumberg, and students from the Collegium Musicum. The showcase will include the Brandenburg Concert No. 1 and “Was mir behagt, ist nur die muntre Jagd” (Hunt Cantata), BWV 208. John Abberger directs the performance.
