La Traviata – Opéra de Paris, France
Marina Rebeka returns to her signature role as Violetta alongside rising star tenor Rame Lahaj as Alfredo. Vitaliy Bilyy sings the role of Germont while Dan Ettinger conducts Benoit Jaquet’s elegant production.
Sebastian Wartig, Michael Eder, Julia Kleiter, Carolina Ullrich, Matthias Henneberg, and Torsten Kerl star in Weber’s rarely performed masterpiece. The premiere will be conducted by Alexander Soddy in a production by Axel Köhler.
Götterdämmerung – Bayerische Staatsoper, Germany
Nina Stemme concludes the Ring Cycle in Munich alongside Stefan Vinke’s signature Siegfried. Conducted by Music director Kirill Petrenko, the production also stars Hans-Peter König, Anna Gabler, Markus Eiche, and Okka von der Damerau.
Sonya Yoncheva In Recital – Teatro Alla Scala, Italy
The Bulgarian soprano continues touring before returning to the Metropolitan Opera. This time she makes a stop in Milan for a recital that includes music by Verdi, Puccini, Catalani, Leoncavallo, and Tosti. Mzia Bachtouridze accompanies Yoncheva on piano.
Anna Netrebko And Yusif Eyvazov On Tour – Minsk, Belarus
Netrebko continues touring Russia with her husband Eyvazov in a concert that should include the music of Verdi and the verismo repertoire. Vladimir Spivakov conducts the star-studded evening.
Carmen – Royal Opera House, United Kingdom
Barrie Kosky’s controversial production continues its run in what has been one of the most talkedabout new productions at the Royal Opera House. The opera stars Francesco Meli as Don José and Anna Goryachova in the title role. Kostas Smoriginas is Escamillo while Kristina Mkhitaryan is Micaëla. Jakub Hrůša conducts the new production.
