Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov – Teatro Colón, Argentina
Anna Netrebko makes her debut at the Teatro Colón in Argentina alongside her husband Yusif Eyvazov. The concert will be the first of two at the theater and the conclusion of her Latin American tour. The program is set to include arias and duets from “Madama Butterfly,” “La Forza del Destino,” “Tosca,” and “Pagliacci.”
Il Turco in Italia – Opera Australia
Opera Austrailia opens its production of Rossini’s opera with Stacey Alleaume, Virgilio Marino, Warwick Fyfe, and bass-baritone Paolo Bordogna. Andrea Molino conducts the production by Simon Phillips.
L’Incoronazione di Poppea – Salzburg Festival, Austria
Sonya Yoncheva and Kate Lindsey star in a new production of Monteverdi’s masterpiece. Stéphanie d’Oustrac, Carlo Vistol, and Renato Dolcini also star with William Christie conducting Les Arts Florissants.
Ricciardo e Zoraide – Rossini Opera Festival, Italy
The Rossini Opera Festival opens with Juan Diego Flórez returning to the festival alongside Pretty Yende. Sergey Romanovsky also stars alongside Nicola Ulivieri and Victoria Yarovaya. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts the premiere in Marshall Pynkoski’s new production.
Adina – Rossini Opera Festival, Italy
Lisette Oropesa and Levy Sekgapane make their Rossini Opera Festival debuts in Rossini’s rarely performed comedy. Diego Matheuz conducts the new production by Rosetta Cucchi. Those would cannot make it to the theater for either Rossini work can catch the live streams on RAI.
