Tomasz Konieczny to Perform Recital at Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa

The Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa has announced a recital featuring Tomasz Konieczny scheduled for Dec. 17, 2022.

The showcase will feature the famed bass-baritone alongside pianist Lech Napierala. The program will spotlight music by Mykola Lysenko, Richard Strauss, Aleksander Nowak (the Polish world premiere of “Dwuwiersze” to words by Bolesław Leśmian), and Henryk Czyż.

Konieczny made his professional debut in 1997 with the Poznan Opera House and has gone on to international fame at such companies as La Scala, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Metropolitan Opera, among others. He is also a recipient of the Vienna State Opera’s Österreichischer Kammersänger.

In 2023, he is set to perform in “La Forza del Destino” with the Polish National Opera in a co-production with the Metropolitan Opera. Mariusz Trelinski directs.
