Tomasz Konieczny Receives Major Honor in New York

New York State has proclaimed that March 8 is Tomasz Konieczny Day.

The bass-baritone took to social to announce the news and said, “Completely unexpectedly for me, at the Nowodworski Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Gala in Bronxville, I was honored by President Pro Tem and NYS Majority Leader, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins. The award came at a difficult time. I see my mission as promoting Polish culture around the world. I am happy that this is being recognized and appreciated. I warmly invite you all to the artistically managed Baltic Opera Festival in the Polish Tri-City of Gdansk-Sopot-Gdynia, the third installment of which will take place July 10-16, 2025. Our main festival venue is the magnificent Forest Opera House (Opera Leśna), which we should boast to the whole world. Come, Ladies and Gentlemen, and see for yourself!”

Konieczny is currently performing in the Metropolitan Opera’s “Fidelio” for which he received rave reviews. He is also set to perform at teh Theater Dortmund, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayreuth Festival, and Dutch National Opera.
