Toledo Opera to Present Puccini’s ‘Tosca’

The company will present the work on Oct 18 and 20, 2024 at the Valentine Theatre and will showcase a Soprano Lindsey Anderson debuting in the title role, tenor Brendan Boyle making his debut as Mario Cavaradossi, and baritone Corey Crider as Scarpia.
They will be joined by Jason Budd, Robbie Raso, Brady DelVecchio, Alex Britton, and Karen Cook.
Geoffrey McDonald conducts the production by Jeffrey Buchman.
In a statement, General Director James M. Norman said, “’Tosca’ is a gorgeous opera with soaring melodies and a dramatic story, which we are excited to produce with a new generation of singers and share with our audience.”
Additionally, Artistic Director Kevin Bylsma noted, “In ‘Tosca,’ Puccini has given us the ultimate combination of powerful story-telling with sumptuous, cinematic music. Each time I see this opera, I think that, perhaps this time Tosca and Cavaradossi will live ‘happily ever after.’”
