Toledo Opera Announces 2024-25 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Toledo Opera has announced its 66th season featuring two mainstage operas.
In a statement, incoming General Director James M. Norman said, “Even though we are doing two productions next season, the shows we are presenting are classics and yet just as relevant as they were when they were written in 1900 and 1949 respectively. We are proud to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning South Pacific.”
The first opera will be Puccini’s “Tosca” and will feature a new production by stage director Jeffrey Buchman. The opera will star Lindsey Anderson as Tosca, Brendan Boyle as Cavaradossi, and Corey Crider as Scarpia.
Performance Dates: Oct. 18 & 20, 2024 at the Valentine Theatre
Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II’s “South Pacific” will star Claire Leyden as Nellie Forbush, Keith Phares as Emile de Becque, and Mike Schwitter as Lt. Joseph Cable.
Performance Dates: Feb. 14 & 16, 2025 at the Valentine Theatre
