Toldeo Opera to Present ‘South Pacific’

Toledo Opera is set to perform Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific.”

The work will be presented on Feb. 14 and Feb. 16, 2025, at the Valentine Theatre.

“South Pacific” will be presented at the Toledo Opera for the first time in its 66 years and will star soprano Claire Leyden in her Toledo Opera debut as Nellie Forbush. She will be joined by Keith Phares, Mike Schwitter, and Kamryn Loy.

The cast will be rounded out by Robbie Raso, M. Scott Peeler, Kurt Elfering, Sarah Rachel Bacani, Mia Snyder, Nico Perez de Tagle. Michael James Vanderpool, Brady DelVecchio, Nicholas Kottman, Noah Smith, Christopher Stack, Emily Cotte, and Ella Green.

J. Ernest Green will conduct the production by James M. Norman, which will feature choreography by Domonique Glover.
