Three Productions Announced For Grange Festival 2019

The Grange Festival’s 2019 season was recently announced, revealing that the event will showcase three new opera productions.

Richard Egarr conducts Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” in a new production by Martin Lloyd-Evans. Toby Girling stars as the Count, while Simona Mihai is set to portray the Countess.  Ellie Laugharne will sing Susanna, while Roberto Lorenzi will take on the title role of Figaro. Wallis Giunta rounds out the cast as Cherubino. The Academy of Ancient Music performs.

Performance Dates: June 6-30, 2019

Robert Hayward sings the title role in Verdi’s “Falstaff” with Francesco Cilluffo conducting and Christopher Luscombe directing. The production also stars Nicholas Lester, Alessandro Fisher, Elin Pritchard, Rhian Lois, Susan Bickley, and Angela Simkin. The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra performs.

Performance Dates: June 7-29, 2019

Handel’s “Belshazzar” makes a rare appearance with Harry Christophers conducting and Daniel Slater directing. The cast includes Robert Murray in the title role, Claire Booth, Christopher Ainslie, Henry Waddington, and James Laing Daniel. The Sixteen Choir and Orchestra perform the work.

Performance Dates: June 20-July 6, 2019
