Three Concerts To Watch On New Year’s Eve

With the New Year’s Eve just a day away, opera audiences are in for a treat with three gala concerts being streamed featuring some of the world’s biggest stars.

The first major concert that will be streamed on the live in the concert hall series and in cinemas will be the Berlin Philharmonic’s annual silver concert gala. The evening will feature Joyce DiDonato performing music by Richard Strauss and Leonard Bernstein. Sir Simon Rattle conducts the gala which is sold out.

The concert that audiences can also catch on Rai TV is the Teatro La Fenice annual New Year’s Eve gala. This year will feature Maria Agresta and Michael Fabiano performing music by Verdi, Puccini and Offenbach. Myung-Whun Chung conducts the special evening.

And for those interested in more musical numbers the New York Philharmonic rings in the New Year with works from Leonard Bernstein. Bramwell Tovey conducts the gala which will be featured on PBS.
