Thomas Hampson to Headline Usedom Music Festival

The New York Philharmonic is set to appear at the Usedom Music Festival starting on May 20, 2022.

The organization will present three concerts throughout the weekend include one of particular interest to opera fans the world over – the May 22 showcase will be headlined by baritone Thomas Hampson as he performs selections from Mahler’s “Des Knaben Wunderhorn.”

Also on the program will be George Walker’s “Lyric for Strings” as well as Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor.

Jaap van Zweden will conduct this and the other two concerts scheduled for the festival. The two preceding performances will be headlined by violinist Anne Sofie Mutter and pianist Jan Lisiecki.

In addition to this program, Hampson is set to appear in recital in Heidelberg alongside pianist Elena Bashkirova on April 22, 2022. He will also take on “Girl with a Pearl Earring” in Zürich starting on April 3, 2022.
