Thomas Hampson, Susan Zarrabi, Nikola Hillebrand, Kieran Carrel Headline Schubert Week 2023

The program for “Schubert Week” has been unveiled.

The program, which will take place between Jan. 16-22, 2023 at Pierre Boulez Saal, will kick off with Thomas Hampson and Wolfram Rieger in performance. The duo will present music by Carl Loewe, Schubert, Mahler, Zemlinsky, Hindemith, Ives, and Daugherty.

Performance Date: Jan. 16, 2023

Next up, mezzo-soprano Susan Zarrabi and pianist Gerold Hubert will deliver a program of music by Loewe, Brahms, Schubert, Franz, Emilie Mayer, Wolf, Strauss, Mendelssohn, Weill, and Hollaender.

Performance Date: Jan. 17, 2023

There will be two Young Singers concerts. The first features baritone Liviu Holender and tenor Zhuohan Sun alongside pianist Malcolm Martineau as they take on music by Schubert and his contemporaries.

Performance Date: Jan. 18, 2023

The second Young Singers concert will be headlined by mezzo Beatriz Miranda and soprano Katrina Paula Felsberga performing music by Schubert and his contemporaries.

Performance Date: Jan. 19, 2023 

Manuel Walser and Jonathan Ware will deliver an all-Schubert recital.

Performance Date: Jan. 20, 2023

Nikola Hillebrand and Helmut Deutsch will perform music by Strauss, Schubert, and Brahms.

Performance Date: Jan. 21, 2023

The program ends with a performance of music by Schubert, Liszt, and Britten by Kieran Carrel and Jonathan Ware.
