Thomas Hampson has canceled his upcoming masterclass and recital at Wigmore Hall.

The baritone announced vias social media that due to the flu he would be unable to perform. He stated, “Dear friends and fans, I came to London and tried but unfortunately I have had to cancel tonight’s recital and tomorrow’s master class Wigmore Hall due to the flu. I am sorry about not being able to perform tonight and hope that we can find a replacement date soon.”

Hampson was set to perform on Dec. 5 and give a masterclass on Dec. 6. Wigmore Hall announced via Twitter that “there will be no replacement date.”

Hampson begins 2020 at the Boulez Saal for a recital and public workshops. This summer, he stars in the world premiere of the “Girl with the Pearl Earring” at the Opernhaus Zurich and returns to Leipzig.
