Thomas Hampson has canceled his August 19 performance with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra in Vilnius.

The baritone took to social media and said, “Sadly, I will be unable to perform with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra in Vilnius on August 19, 2021 due to a family emergency, which requires me to travel immediately back to the U.S. I am deeply sorry for this inconvenience to the orchestra and my dear fans and friends in Lithuania. I greatly look forward to returning at an alternate date in the near future, stay tuned for updates!”

The performance was set to include Mahler’s “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” and Blumine from Symphony No. 1 in D major.

The concert has been rescheduled for the 26th Vilnius Festival on June 22, 2022.
