Third Coast Baroque’s 2019-20 Season To Feature Vivaldi, Handel
By David SalazarThird Coast Baroque, an early music ensemble from Chicago, has unveiled its 2019-20 season. For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on concerts related to opera and vocal performances.
It all kicks off with “Wonder Women: Female Strength in Handel’s Cantatas.” The concert will star Nathalie Colas, Kaitlin Foley, Erica Schuller, and the TCB Chamber Ensemble. The performances are set to take place at the Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and First United Methodist Church in Chicago.
Performance Dates: Sept. 6, 7, 2019
The season draws to an end with “Welcome Back, Vivaldi: Revisiting Forgotten Treasures” which will feature mezzo-soprano Angela Young Smucker in music from the composer’s “Orlando Furioso.” The concert will also feature other works by the famed Italian composer.
