Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Cancels Performances Through April

By Francisco Salazar

The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has announced that all performances until April 21 have been canceled.

The theater revealed that while performances were canceled, some of the scheduled dates have postponed for new dates.

Among the canceled concerts are Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Patrizia Ciofi and Lea Desandre’s gala, Bellini’s “I Puritani,” Handel’s “Tamerlano,” and others.

Concerts that have been rescheduled include recitals by Elsa Dreisig, Michael Spyres, and pianist Denis Matsuev.

The news comes as France recently announced a new lockdown on March 19. Essential shops remain open and civilians can only move within a limit of 10 kilometers from their home. The government has also restricted travel between regions in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
