The local council has confirmed Robin Davis as general music director of the Theater Pforzheim during the 2020-21 season.

Davis was born in Exeter, England and studied mathematics at Cambridge University before studying piano accompaniment with Michael Dussek at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He got his first engagement at the Dortmund Theater and later went on to the Oldenburg State Theater in 2011 as conductor and assistant to the general music director.

In 2014, he was appointed associate of the Royal Academy of Music in London and worked at the Salzburg State Theater, where he held the position of first conductor from 2017 to 2019.

This season the Theater Pforzheim performed productions of “Rigoletto,” “Wiener Blut,” Arian auf Naxos,” and “The Bartered Bride.”
