The Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn in Switzerland has announced it will reopen with productions of Janáček’s “Šárka” and Rameau’s “Zaïs.”

Rameau’s work will first open on April 30 in a production by Anna Drescher and will be conducted by Andreas Reize. The cast will include Sebastian Monti, Marion Grange, Matteo Loi, and Wolfgang Resch.

Meanwhile, Janáček’s work will open on May 5 and will star Serenad Uyar, Irakli Murjikneli, and Konstantin Nazlamov. Kaspar Zehnder and Riccardo Fiscato will conduct the production by Dieter Kaegi.

Both works will be performed in Biel and Solothurn and will follow strict regulations imposed by the Swiss government.

The news comes as the Swiss government announced its intentions to begin easing restrictions that will allow cinemas and other leisure facilities to reopen.
