The Theater Altenburg Gera is set to present Johann Friedrich Agricola’s “Achille in Sciro.”

The work, which premiered in 1765, tells the story of the eventful youth of the great legendary figure Achilles.

The production will be directed by Laurence Dale and will showcase the opera in an entertaining production that highlights the comic, burlesque moments of the plot.

Gerd Amelung will conduct a cast that includes Jasper Sung, Angelo Giordano, Julia Gromball, Joel Vuik, Maximiliano Danta, Leila Grace Hills, Miriam Zubieta, and Giuseppe Claudio Insalaco.

“Achille in Sciro” will open on May 24 and will runNo entien through June 9, 2024.
