The Seattle Symphony has announced the recipients of its 2026-27 Community Stages Fund, a program that supports artists and community organizations in presenting performances at Benaroya Hall, including the Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble (STANCE).

STANCE, which describes itself as Seattle’s first and only all-trans and nonbinary choir, will present “The Sound of Remembrance: A Mosaic Requiem” on Nov. 20, 2026, in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. The concert falls on Transgender Day of Remembrance.

“Benaroya Hall belongs to the entire Seattle community. Through the Community Stages Fund, we’re proud to help bring new voices, ideas and experiences into the Hall, deepening our connection to the community and expanding what it means to be a cultural home for Seattle,” said Jeremy Rothman, president and CEO of the Seattle Symphony, per an official press release.

Recipients of the fund receive financial, production and marketing support, along with access to Benaroya Hall stages. A committee of Seattle Symphony staff and past awardees selects them, evaluating emerging arts organizations, groups and individual artists across disciplines, with consideration given to demonstrated financial need and service to diverse communities.
