The Royal College of Music Announces 2022 Summer Season

The Royal College of Music has announced its 2022 summer season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

It all kicks off with “The American Song,” a concert featuring music by Ives, Amy Beach, Bolcom, Harbison, Cipullo, and Musto.

Performance Date: April 27, 2022

John Paul Jennings will lead a performance of “Pierrot Lunaire” with Rebekah Jones, Rebecca Leggett, and Ana Beard Fernández as the soloists.

Performance Date: May 13, 2022

Bill Bankes-Jones directs “Odysseys,” six mini-operas. Timothy Burke conducts a cast starring Richie Johnsen, Sam Norman, Eluned Davies, Alfie Coates, Michael Hughes, Jack Crowe, Tymon Zgorzelski, Olga Tokarczuk, Jennifer Croft, Liam Dougherty, and Darren Sng.

Performance Date: May 14 & 15, 2022

Gary Matthewman conducts “Opera Scenes.” Saffron van Zwanenberg directs.

Performance Date: May 20, 2022 

Sir Andrew Davis leads the RCM Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’été.” Soloists include Ava Dodd, Henna Mun, and Georgia Melville.

Performance Date: June 23, 2022

Jonathan Dove’s “Flight” will be conducted by Michael Rosewell and directed by Jeremy Sams.

Performance Date: June 28 – July 4, 2022
