The Romanian Opera in Timisoara to Present ‘The Merry Widow’
By David SalazarThe Romanian Opera in Timisoara will present “The Merry Widow” on Feb. 14, 2024.
The opera will star Octavian Vlaicu as Baron Zeta, Crina Vezentan as Valencienne, Cristian Rudic as Danilo, Mihaela Marcu as Hanna Glavari, and Stefan von Korch as Camille de Rosillon.
The work will be conducted by Hermann Szabolcs with Mario de Carlo directing.
“Performing for the audience in Timisoara is a thrill and honor, and a new rendition of this role that I played many times before, in the Opera Houses of Iasi and Cluj is a challenge that I look forward to,” said von Korch stated per Romanian publication Nine O’Clock.
The performance starts at 7 p.m. local time.
