By Afton Markay

The central Florida-based ensemble, the Pinnacle Singers is set to present a reimagined version of Puccini’s “Turandot.”

Soprano Cass Panuska will sing the title role, with soprano Ashley Nuñez as Lui, and baritone Torlef Borsting as Calaf. Giles Howe accompanies at the piano. This version of “Turandot” will be sung in English and features a new piano arrangement of the score.

Howe said in a press release, “There are many unconventional venues to explore, offering wonderful ways to create magical local experiences sharing the music we love. We seek to create unforgettable and uniquely local experiences to make everlasting memories.”

Performances will take place at a secret rural Florida pop-up venue on April 19 and at a downtown cocktail bar the following night. Next, audiences at the Romanza Festivale can see “Turandot” on May 9. The final performance is set to take place in Northwest Square on May 10.
