By David SalazarThe Pasadena Chorale will present the 10th annual Listening to the Future concert on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Pasadena Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, California.
The free concert features world premieres of original choral works by five Pasadena-area high school composers including Esme Gregoropoulos and Marlene Jimenez of Renaissance Arts Academy; Verona Hofer of Pasadena Waldorf High School; Alexis Salazar of California School of the Arts-San Gabriel Valley; and Zach Vasko of Blair High School. The students were mentored from November through May by Los Angeles composer and Pasadena City College music professor David García Saldaña.

The four selected composers are Brayden Allen of Dallas Baptist University, Taleya Jordan of Louisiana State University, Corbin Montenegro of Kansas State University, and Maria Tartaglia of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
In recognition of the program’s milestone anniversary, the Pasadena Chorale will also perform two works composed during “Listening to the Future’s” early years by program alumni Katherine Beggs and Avo Roberts.
The showcase kicks off at 5 p.m. local time.
