The Opera People to Present ‘Femme X: Baroque Heroines’

The Opera People will present “Femme X: Baroque Heroines” on Nov. 22 at the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore.

The showcase will feature sopranos Teng Xiang Ting, Cherie Tse, and Felicia Teo Kaixin alongside musicians from the Red Dot Baroque and harpsichordist Stéphane Fuget.

The event will feature three baroque cantatas by Philippe Courbois, Georg Frederic Händel, and François Colin de Blamont. The cantatas will be presented in conjunction with poetry by Eunice Clark, Faustina Maratti Zappi, and Carol Ann Duffy. Their program also features instrumental works “Jupiter” by Antoine Forqueray and “Medée” by Jacque Duphly.

The showcase will be presented as part of the Voilah! France Singapore Festival in partnership with the Ambassade de France à Singapore, Amundi Asset Management, Indosuez Wealth Management, and Crédit Agricole.

The Opera People is coming off a production of “The Rape of Lucretia” that was performed on Oct. 14 and 16.
