The Opera Buffs have announced Rossini’s comic opera, “La Cenerentola,” as their 2019 Opera in Concert.

Performed on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at The Colburn School’s Zipper Hall, the cast for the Rossini classic will include Katherine Beck as Cinderella, Randall Bills as Prince Ramiro, Efrain Solis as Dandini, and Jose Luis Maldonado as Don Magnifico, with Brent McMunn conducting.

“Rossini’s hilarious take on the Cinderella story sparkles and delights. The witty plot, based on the Parrault fairy tale, revolves around evil stepsisters, a delusional father, a guardian angel, a lovesick prince and upstart servant who exchange roles to test the true nature of prospective brides – and of course the classic makeover as the lowly Cinderella becomes the glamorous princess. All sung to Rossini’s melodies,” the company says in a press release.

The concert comes as part of The Opera Buffs ongoing commitment to providing performance opportunities for emerging artists in the Southern California region.
