
The New School’s Mannes Opera Announces Women-led 2025-26 Season

Mannes Opera at The New School’s College of Performing Arts announces its 2025-26 season led by women composers and directors.
As part of the school’s New Work Incubation, Alyssa Weinberg and J. Mae Barizo’s workshop version of “DRIFT” is presented in partnership with Saratoga Opera.
Performance Date: Oct. 4, 2025
A double bill featuring concert versions of Busoni and Jarnach’s “Turandot” and Chin and Hwang’s “Puzzles and Games” is next. Mikhaela Mahony directs. Tong Chen conducts the Mannes Orchestra.
Performance Date: Nov. 20, 2025
“The Silent Serenade” by Korngold and Clement gets its U.S. premiere. Emma Griffin directs, and Cris Frisco conducts.
Performance Dates: March 13 & 14, 2026
A workshop of “HOUSE OF YES” by Kamala Sankaram, Kathleen Kelly, and Michael Kelly closes the season. This production is presented in partnership with Wolf Trap Opera.
