The Mozartists to Showcase ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’
By David SalazarThe Mozartists are heading to Cadogan Hall for a performance of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”
Set for Oct. 21, 2024, the showcase features Alexandra Lowe as the Countess, James Atkinson as Count Almaviva, Ellie Laugharne as Susanna, and Antoin Herrera-López Kessel as Figaro. Other cast members include Frances Gregory, Alessandro Fisher, Katija Dragojevic, Trevor Eliot Bowes, and Isabelle Haile.
“’Le nozze di Figaro’ is one of the most frequently performed operas in the repertoire, and yet every performance needs to feel like a special occasion,” said conductor Ian Page per a press release. “I’m hugely excited to be working on this masterpiece with such a fantastic young cast, and performing an opera such as this in a concert hall brings many extra positives. Not only does the connection between performers and audience have greater proximity and intimacy, but it can feel as if the audience has the opportunity to ‘read the novel rather than watching the film.’”
The performance will be followed by a showcase in Sicily two days later.
