The Marsh San Francisco will present the world premiere of “Amadeus Never Gives Me the Blues,” a new jukebox musical solo show written and performed by mezzo-soprano Amy Bouchard.
Directed and developed by David Ford and accompanied by pianist Daniel Lockert, the show traces the genesis of Bouchard’s artistry, following a young singer torn between her blossoming career and settling down with her lover Luis. The musical draws on repertoire spanning several centuries, from Mozart and Schubert to Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jason Robert Brown, and Sara Bareilles.
The production was developed through The Marsh’s solo performance program under the mentorship of Ford, Mark Kenward, and Tina D’Elia. It won the Best Up and Coming award at The Marsh International Solo Festival in 2022 before being presented as part of the theater’s Marsh Rising development series.
Bouchard is a San Francisco-based mezzo-soprano who has performed with Opera Modesto, West Bay Opera, and Livermore Valley Opera.
Performances run from April 11, 2026 through May 23, 2026 at The Marsh San Francisco.
