The Mad Scene is set to present Verdi’s “Macbeth” starting on April 23, 2022. 

The production by the Singapore-based company will star Steve Ang in the title role alongside Tatiana Konovalova as Lady Macbeth, Jonathan Charles Tay as Macduff, and pianist Francesca Lee. Hawk Liu directs the famed opera. 

Ang is also the company’s Artistic Director and has taken on roles in such operas as “Don Giovanni,” Dialogues des Carmelites,” “Die Lustige Witwe, and “Madama Butterfly.” His work as a performer has taken him to such countries as Italy, Malaysia, China, U.K., and Taiwan, among others. In addition to his work as an artist, Ang is also an arts journalist, event producer, and singing instructor. 

Konovalova has appeared with such companies as the St. Petersburg Academia Philharmonica and the Festival of Slavic Culture in Moscow. 

Finally, Tay has appeared with such organizations as Singapore Chinese Orchestra, SPOT Opera, L’Arietta productions, Braddel Heights Symphony Orchestra, and the Richard Wagner Association, among many others.
