By Dejan Vukosavljevic

The Boston Baroque will perform a program of 18th-century works on April 8, 2020 as a part of the LA Philharmonic’s Presenting Series at Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles.

The first part of the concert will feature Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in F, J. S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 4 and Vivaldi’s sacred motet “Nulla in mundo pax sincera,” showcasing soprano Yulia Van Doren.

The second part will showcase the concert Suite from “Platée” by Jean-Philippe Rameau and Music for the Royal Fireworks by Georg Friedrich Händel.

Martin Pearlman, Music Director of the Boston Baroque, will conduct.

Soprano Van Doren has performed in Monsigny’s opéra comique “Le Roi et le fermier” at Opéra de Versailles, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center, as well as the role of Dorinda in Händel’s “Orlando” with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra at the Mostly Mozart, Ravinia, and Tanglewood festivals.  Van Doren has also appeared in the role of Meroe in Scarlatti/Lalli’s “Il Tigrane” at the Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur, among others.
