The Knights are set to return to Ravinia Festival for a performance of Bernstein’s “Candide.”

The showcase will be led by conductor Eric Jacobsen with Alison Moritz directing. The production will star Met Opera Auditions-winning tenor Miles Mykkanen in the title role, Sharleen Joynt as Cunégonde, Margaret Gawrysiak as the Old Lady, Evan Jones as Pangloss/Voltaire/Cacambo, Evan Bravos as Maximilian/Grand Inquisitor/Sea Captain, and Alex Mansoori  as Baron/Governor/Vanderdendur/Ragotski.

The Knights are a collective of adventurous musicians, dedicated to transforming the orchestral experience and eliminating barriers between audiences and music.

The ensemble has performed with a number of important artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw, Béla Fleck, and Gil Shaham, and have performed at Carnegie Hall, Tanglewood, and the Vienna Musikverein.

“Candide” is set to be performed on August 28, 2019 at the Ravinia Pavilion Highland Park, IL.
