The Kennedy Center Announces 2022-23 Season of Renée Fleming’s VOICES Series
By David SalazarThe Kennedy Center has announced the 2022-23 season of Renée Fleming’s VOICES series.
For the purposes of this article, our focus will be on classical music performers.
First up will be Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez who will appear at Eisenhower Tower.
“In Juan Diego Flórez, we have one of the great bel canto tenors of our time,” Fleming noted in an official press statement. “To hear him in recital, in the relative intimacy of the Eisenhower Theater – instead of a vast opera house – will be an unforgettable experience.”
Performance Date: Jan. 26, 2023
The season concludes with “The Ice Cream Truck is Broken and Other Emotional Arias,” which will be presented as a Kennedy Center and Washington National Opera world premiere commission. The program is aimed at younger audiences and their families.
“We want to show children and their families this art form can give voice to their happiest moments and bluest moods,” Fleming noted.
Performance Date: April 22 & 23, 2023
